The composition of Cu-Ni 70 / 30 Plates offered by Numax Steels standardised also contains characteristic mechanical properties. The tolerance ranges of the composition of alloys standardised in different countries are not the same as those specified and former national standards in all cases.

Cu-Ni 70 / 30 Coils have interesting physical properties, good mechanical properties – even under continuous loading and at elevated temperatures – together with high resistance to corrosion in many media – especially seawater.

The properties of the binary alloys are not adequate for many applications. Certain properties of Cupronickel 70 / 30 Sheets from Numax Steels can be significantly increased by several additions. Nickel has a marked effect on the colour of these alloys, where the copper colour becomes lighter as nickel is added. With enough of these elements in Cupronickel 70 / 30 Plates, the austenitic structure may be obtained at room temperature.
