Due to its non - reactive qualities, it is as well used in the manufacture of medical surgical instruments, where these items have chemical and mechanical properties complying with both SS 316 and SS 316L specifications.

These SS 316H Sheets shall be suitable for bending, flanging (vanstoning), and similar forming operations, and for fusion welding. Heavy welded sections in this alloy require post-weld annealing for maximum corrosion resistance. In general, these SS 316H Plates is referred as an alloy steel pipe when content of Manganese – 1.65 %, Silicon – 0.6 % & copper 0.6 % exceeds the limit prescribed.

316H Stainless Steel Sheets has higher strength at elevated temperatures and is sometimes used for structural and pressure - containing applications at temperatures above about 500 Degree C.
